Katie Nues Foundation

Every year we support a nonprofit recipient that is making a difference in children’s lives in the community, while also raising funds to continue our mission. This year, a portion of the donations collected will go to The Katie Nues Foundation, which serves Katie’s Clinic at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.

UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland is proud to house Katie’s Clinic for Rett Syndrome, a specialty clinic that is one of the few places in the United States that specializes in the diagnosis and comprehensive care for girls and young women with Rett Syndrome.

This groundbreaking clinic is essential for families who are affected by Rett Syndrome, a devastating neurological disorder. This rare disorder, which primarily affects girls, steals all motor skills, causes seizures, scoliosis, swallowing and digestive problems, along with sleep and breathing issues. Rett Syndrome is genetic but not hereditary.

Katie's Clinic goals are to help the patient, her family, and their care team back home manage health and development issues. While there is currently no cure, treatments are available that can improve the quality of life for girls and young women with Rett Syndrome, as well as that of their families.
